This 24-hour class will teach the essential building blocks of modern web programming skills: JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3 & HTML5, in order to create an interactive web site. These valuable skills can be applied to build school projects and academic portfolio, and are sought-after skills in technology companies who offer plenty of opportunities in summer jobs or internship.
Web programming skills are practical and helpful in establishing the fundamental knowledge of modern Computer Science. They are relatively easier to grasp than Java and C++ languages. Mastering these skills will reduce the friction of learning AP Computer Science subjects and mobile programming (app development) for the first time programming learners. For those who have shown interests and are capable of moving beyond Web programming, successful completion of this class will enable them to approach more advanced subjects with ease and confidence.
Prerequisite: None (Students must bring own laptop computer)
