A comprehensive Java programming class designed to prepare students for acing College Board AP-Computer Science A exam in 2019, and going beyond by helping students build solid foundation for further pursue in computer science, whether in students’ academic endeavor or employment opportunity. Classes cover the ins-and-outs of Java language and its application in real life scenario. Students will work on the fundamental Java concepts such as language syntax, logical expression, data type, Java class library, flow control, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design pattern, recursive algorithm, Java data structure, sorting, searching and merging algorithm, and bring alive these skills by applying it to hands-on projects. Two months before the College Board exam, students will work on test preparation through in-depth review of test coverage and simulated tests. This class is highly recommended for those who are concurrently studying AP-CS A at their own high schools, or for those who are self-studying Java to prepare for the College Board exam.
Prerequisites: Proficiency in Algebra and typing speed of 40+ words per minute. Students must bring their own laptop computers to the class.
